Early vs late ILX
Early ILXs are the only ones with a manual transmission (2.4L, 2013–2015) or a hybrid (2013–2014). From 2016 every ILX shares the same 2.4L and eight-speed dual-clutch automatic, which uses a torque converter; Acura says that setup smooths stop-and-go driving.
The 2016-and-later ILX is rated 28–29 mpg combined by EPA, versus 27 mpg for the early 2.0L automatic.[1][3][2][4]
