The 2025 Armada redesign: twin-turbo V6 replaces the V8

For 2025 Nissan replaced the 5.6-liter V8 with a twin-turbo, direct-injection 3.5-liter V6 rated at 425 hp and 516 lb-ft on premium fuel, paired with a 9-speed automatic in place of the old 7-speed. Against the 2024 V8 (400 hp, 413 lb-ft) that is 25 hp and 103 lb-ft more.

Standard towing stays at 8,500 lb. EPA rates the 2026 Armada 4x4 at 17 mpg combined; the 2024 V8 was the last Armada with eight cylinders.[4][1][10][3][8]

Armada PRO-4X

The PRO-4X arrived with the 2025 redesign as the first off-road Armada. It adds all-terrain tires, a better approach angle, underbody skid plates, an electronic locking rear differential and Adaptive Electronic Air Suspension. The 2027 PRO-4X costs $78,990, and EPA rates it at 16 mpg combined.[4][1][5]

Armada NISMO

The first Armada NISMO came for 2026 at $79,530. Its V6 is tuned for 460 hp on premium fuel, 35 hp more than other Armadas, making it the most powerful Nissan on sale in the US. It also gets NISMO-tuned suspension, brakes and steering. For 2027 it costs $80,690.[6][1][7]

Nissan Armada problems and recalls

The most significant documented Armada problems are a driver air bag inflator that could rupture on 2013–2015 models, a fuel pump that can fail on 2020–2021 V8 models, and older recalls for brake pedals, fuel gauges, engine relays and condenser fans on 2004–2010 trucks. Newer Armadas have camera software and label recalls.
