Nissan GT-R engines, horsepower and mpg
EPA lists a single GT-R rating per year; the 2024 figure covers the 565-hp car. Nissan says the current engine rating dates from refinements for the 2020 model year.

GT-R end of production
In June 2024 Nissan announced that GT-R production for the North American market would end that October, after more than 17 years. It marked the end with two limited editions, the Skyline Edition and the T-spec Takumi Edition, with fewer than 200 cars available between them.
The Takumi Edition honors the craftspeople who hand-build each VR38DETT engine, with a red-etched engine badge and a gold VIN plate. EPA's GT-R listings end with the 2024 model year.[2][7]
How GT-R power grew
The 2009 GT-R launched with 480 hp and 430 lb-ft from its 3.8-liter twin-turbo V6. By its final years the standard car made 565 hp and 467 lb-ft, after engine refinements for the 2020 model year, and the NISMO made 600 hp and 481 lb-ft.
The final GT-R channels its power through a rear-mounted 6-speed dual-clutch transaxle and an all-wheel-drive system that varies the front-to-rear torque split.[4][1]
