Ford paint codes
On a Ford, the factory paint code is printed on the Safety Compliance Certification Label on the driver's door jamb — the two-character code in the "EXT PNT" box (Ford reuses two-letter codes across eras, so the code plus the model year together identify the color). It identifies the exact color the car was born with — a respray never changes it. 14 documented colors below with their codes and finishes; swatches are representative.
