THE MATERIAL IN THE NUT USED TO SECURE THE SENSOR-TRANSMITTER OF THE TIRE PRESSURE MONITORING SYSTEM (TPMS) MAY CORRODE AND POTENTIALLY CRACK IN AREAS WITH HEAVY CONCENTRATIONS OF ROAD SALT. IF THIS OCCURS, THE NUT MAY COME OUT OF THE SENSOR-TRANSMITTER AND THE TPMS LAMP WILL ILLUMINATE.
The risk: IF THE TPMS LAMP IS DISREGARDED AND THE VEHICLE CONTINUES TO BE DRIVEN IN THIS CONDITION, THE TIRE WILL QUICKLY LOSE AIR PRESSURE AT A CONSISTENT RATE RESULTING IN A FLAT TIRE INCREASING THE RISK OF A CRASH.
The fix: THE DEALER WILL REPLACE THE TPMS NUT WITH A NEW, MORE ROBUST NUT. THIS SERVICE WILL BE PERFORMED FREE OF CHARGE. THE RECALL IS EXPECTED TO BEGIN ON OR BEFORE NOVEMBER 9, 2009. OWNERS MAY CONTACT NISSAN AT 1-800-647-7261 AND INFINITI AT 1-800-662-6200.

How to check if your Rogue has an open recall
- Find the 17-character VIN on the driver-side dashboard (visible through the windshield), the door-jamb sticker, or your registration.
- Enter it in the free VIN recall check. It queries NHTSA for your exact vehicle, not just the model.
- If a recall is open, call any Nissan dealer's service department to book the free repair. Bring the recall number from the list above.
- Buying used? Ask the seller for the dealer's recall-completion printout before you pay.
Or browse by year, for example the 2026 Nissan Rogue recall check.
Recalls are only part of the picture. Owner complaints show which years have the most problems: Nissan Rogue years to avoid.
Frequently asked questions
How many recalls does the Nissan Rogue have?
44 NHTSA safety recall campaigns cover the Nissan Rogue across model years 2008–2026. A single campaign often spans several model years, so the per-year counts in the table add up to more than 44. The 2021 model year has the most, with 10.
What is the latest Nissan Rogue recall?
26V419000, filed with NHTSA on Jun 30, 2026: powertrain / transmission (automatic transmission, gear position indication (prndl)), covering 2026 Rogue models. The fix is free at Nissan dealers.
What is the biggest Nissan Rogue recall?
By vehicles covered, 16V244000 (Apr 26, 2016), a air bags campaign covering about 3,296,947 vehicles in total. That count is for the whole campaign, which can include other models besides the Rogue.
How do I check if my Nissan Rogue has an open recall?
Run your 17-character VIN through a VIN recall check. A model-level list can't tell you whether your car was built in the affected range or has already been repaired. Any Nissan dealer can also look up the VIN and do the repair.
Are Nissan recall repairs free?
Yes. Safety-recall repairs are done free at franchised Nissan dealers, whether or not the warranty has expired and wherever you bought the car. Manufacturers must offer a free remedy for vehicles up to 15 years old at the time the recall is filed, and many still repair older ones.
