- Every 2027 Frontier uses the same 3.8L V6 and 9-speed automatic. The spread in ratings comes from cab, bed length, drivetrain and grade weight.
- The lightest configuration, the S King Cab 4x2, earns both the top tow rating (7,150 lbs) and the top payload (1,590 lbs). The PRO-4X Crew Cab long bed is the lowest at 6,270 lbs and 1,100 lbs.
- Each model year, 4x4 versions are rated roughly 100–250 lbs below the matching 4x2 for towing.
- For 2025, Nissan raised the max rating from 6,640 to 7,150 lbs and the GCWR from 11,427 to 11,960 lbs.
The maximum rating assumes a specific, lightly loaded configuration. Three other limits apply on every tow, and the first one you hit is your real limit:
