Volkswagen trim levels explained

By CarWhere Research · Updated

Most Volkswagen models climb a grade ladder from S through SE and SEL, with R-Line appearance and Premium versions near the top. The Golf GTI and Golf R use their own trim names, and the ID. electric models use Pro and Pro S badges. CarWhere lays out 35 trims across 9 Volkswagen models — Atlas, Atlas Cross Sport, Tiguan, Taos, Jetta, Golf GTI, Golf R, ID.4 and ID. Buzz — with dated base MSRPs, engines and key equipment.
