XC60 T8 plug-in hybrid explained
The 2018 XC60 T8 combined a supercharged and turbocharged 2.0-liter engine with a rear electric motor for 400 hp; EPA rated it at 59 MPGe with 18 miles of electric range. The 2020 Polestar Engineered version raised output to 415 hp and 494 lb-ft with Öhlins dampers and six-piston brakes.

Volvo T5 and T6 engines in the XC60
In the first-generation XC60, the T6 was a 3.0-liter turbocharged inline six: 281 hp and 295 lb-ft in 2010, 300 hp and 325 lb-ft by 2016, and 325 hp and 354 lb-ft in the R-Design. Drive-E four-cylinders took over the T5 and T6 names from 2015.
In the second generation, the T5 was a 250-hp turbo four and the T6 a 316-hp turbocharged and supercharged four. Mild-hybrid B5 and B6 versions replaced them.[12][13][18][6][19]
