Volvo trim levels explained

By CarWhere Research · Updated

Current Volvo models use a three-step trim ladder — Core, Plus and Ultra (called Ultimate, with Bright or Dark themes, for 2024) — while model years before 2023 used Momentum, R-Design and Inscription. A trim name alone does not pin down equipment, so each model page lists the trims by generation. CarWhere lays out 87 trims across 7 Volvo models — XC90, XC60, XC40, EX30, EX90, V60 and S60 — with dated base MSRPs, engines and key equipment.
