Audi 3.0 TFSI V6 engines by year

By CarWhere Research · Updated

Audi has sold two different 3.0 TFSI V6 engines. The supercharged version (roughly 2010–2019) uses an Eaton blower and made 272–354 hp. The turbocharged version, starting with the 2018 S4 and S5, uses a twin-scroll turbo and makes 335–362 hp. Both measure 2,995 cc with an 84.5 × 89 mm bore and stroke.

The supercharged 3.0 TFSI powered the B8 S4 and S5, the C7 A6 and A7, the D4 A8, the Q5, SQ5 and Q7, with outputs from 272 hp (Q5) to 354 hp (SQ5). It uses an Eaton R1320 roots-type supercharger in the vee and compression ratios of 10.3:1 to 10.8:1.

The turbocharged 3.0 TFSI arrived in the 2018 S4 and S5 at 354 hp and took over the A6, A7, A8 and Q8 for 2019 and the Q7 for 2020. It uses a single twin-scroll turbocharger inside the vee and an 11.2:1 compression ratio, and 55 TFSI versions add a 48-volt mild hybrid. A 362 hp, 406 lb-ft version with a 12.0:1 compression ratio arrived in the 2025 S5 and SQ5 and the 2026 A6.
