GMC Yukon Build Sheet by VIN
Same lookup as the GMC build sheet by VIN — same free availability check, same $9.99 report, for every GMC model. Also: GMC window sticker by VIN · GMC VIN decoder · GM RPO codes by VIN · GMC Yukon trim levels · GMC Yukon known issues.
A Yukon build sheet shows how one VIN was ordered: trim (SLE through Denali Ultimate), colors, engine — 5.3L, 6.2L or 3.0L Duramax — and the RPO codes for options and packages such as Max Trailering, Air Ride Adaptive Suspension and Magnetic Ride Control. CarWhere checks the VIN free and charges $9.99 only when build data exists.

What a GMC Yukon build sheet shows
The Yukon and Yukon XL share hardware with the Tahoe and Suburban, so the build sheet confirms engine, trailering, suspension and seating plus GMC trim content (AT4, Denali, Denali Ultimate). You get the RPO codes for the ordered options and packages — not every standard-equipment code on the SPID label.
- • The factory trim, exterior color, and interior trim recorded for that VIN.
- • Installed factory options and packages, when the underlying build data includes them — for GM vehicles, the RPO codes for the options and packages the vehicle was ordered with.
- • Original MSRP figures, when the underlying build data includes them — not every VIN or model year has this available.
- • A downloadable, printable PDF you can keep with the vehicle’s records or share with a seller or lender.
Data density varies by model year and specific VIN — some vehicles return a full option and MSRP breakdown, others return trim and color only. We tell you which one applies before you pay. Not included: accident history, title brands (salvage, flood, lemon), odometer history, prior-owner count, service records.
GMC Yukon options that matter most
RPO codes shown are from the GM RPO code reference, with where they apply in brackets. Options marked “by name” appear on the build record under their option name — the RPO code varies by model year and is shown on the build sheet for that VIN when the build data includes it.
| Option | RPO code (applies to) | Why it matters |
|---|---|---|
| Engine | The 6.2L is common on Denali trims; the Duramax is a sought-after alternative. The RPO confirms which one. | |
| Max Trailering Package | By name | Shown by name here. Changes the tow rating — a hitch receiver alone does not make a Max Trailering Yukon. |
| Air Ride Adaptive Suspension | By name | Shown by name. Factory air suspension on upper trims of the current generation. |
| Magnetic Ride Control | By name | Shown by name. Adaptive dampers on upper trims. |
| AT4 trim | By name | Shown by name. GMC’s off-road-oriented Yukon. |
| Denali / Denali Ultimate | By name | Shown by name. Top luxury trims; Super Cruise availability depends on year and trim. |
Exterior color is a separate paint code, printed on the SPID label. Looking for a Corvette? It has its own Corvette build sheet by VIN page.
GMC Yukon generations at a glance
| Generation | US model years | Build-sheet notes |
|---|---|---|
| K2XX | 2015–2020 | Solid rear axle. Magnetic Ride Control and trailering packages are the key ordered options on upper trims. |
| T1XX | 2021–present | Current generation with independent rear suspension, available Air Ride Adaptive Suspension and the 3.0L Duramax diesel. Refreshed for 2025. |

Where to find the VIN and the SPID label on a GMC Yukon
- • The VIN is visible through the lower driver-side corner of the windshield.
- • It is also on the driver-side door-jamb certification label, and on the title, registration and insurance card.
- • GM's Service Parts Identification (SPID) label is usually inside the glovebox (sometimes in the center console, trunk or spare-tire area). It repeats the VIN, shows the paint code and lists every RPO the vehicle was built with — standard equipment included, often 50 or more codes.
The CarWhere build sheet is not a copy of that label. It returns the RPO codes for the options and packages the vehicle was ordered with — the codes that set one Yukon apart from another — when the build data includes them. If the label is missing, faded or you can't see the vehicle, that is usually what you need. How to read the label itself: GM SPID label explained.
Example: a GMC Yukon VIN, position by position
Illustrative example, not a specific vehicle: 1GKS2DKL6RR012345 is a check-digit-valid pattern that the federal decoder reads as a 2024 GMC Yukon Denali SUV, 4WD, with a 6.2L V8, built in Arlington, Texas. Nothing in the 17 characters lists RPO codes or packages — those live in the production record for the VIN. Decode any GMC VIN free with the GMC VIN decoder.
| Positions | Value | Meaning |
|---|---|---|
| 1–3 | 1GK | World Manufacturer Identifier — GMC SUVs built in the US (1GK). |
| 4–7 | S2DK | Vehicle descriptor — GM line, series, body and restraint coding; vPIC reads Yukon Denali, 4WD SUV. |
| 8 | L | Engine code — vPIC reads a 6.2L V8 (gasoline). |
| 9 | 6 | Check digit (validates the other 16 characters). |
| 10 | R | Model year 2024. |
| 11 | R | Assembly plant: Arlington, Texas. |
| 12–17 | 012345 | Production serial number. |
GMC window sticker vs build sheet
Start with the free GMC window sticker by VIN lookup: when GM's window-sticker system has the original Monroney label for that VIN, it lists the factory options and packages with their prices. When no sticker comes back, the build sheet is the replacement — This CarWhere build sheet is reconstructed from available VIN-level build data. It is not an official GMC Monroney label or factory certificate. The other routes (SPID label, dealer printout, owner app) are compared in how to find GM options by VIN.

FAQ
How do I know which engine my Yukon has?
The 5.3L V8 is RPO L84, the 6.2L V8 is L87, and the 3.0L Duramax diesel is LM2 (through 2022) or LZ0 (2023+). A free VIN decode shows the engine from the 8th character; the build sheet adds the ordered packages.
Does the Yukon build sheet cover the Yukon XL?
Yes — the lookup works on any GMC VIN, including the Yukon XL. Each build sheet is matched to the exact VIN entered.
Is the build sheet the same as the Yukon glovebox SPID label?
Not exactly. The Service Parts Identification (SPID) label lists every RPO on the vehicle, including standard equipment. The CarWhere build sheet returns the RPO codes for the options and packages the vehicle was ordered with — the codes that set one build apart from another — when the build data includes them.
How much is a Yukon build sheet by VIN?
Checking whether detailed build data exists for the VIN is free and happens before you pay. If it does, the report — including the build sheet — is $9.99 one-time, no subscription. If it doesn’t, you are not charged.
Is the CarWhere Yukon build sheet an official GMC document?
No. This CarWhere build sheet is reconstructed from available VIN-level build data. It is not an official GMC Monroney label or factory certificate. When GM’s window-sticker system has the original sticker for a VIN, the free GMC window sticker lookup returns that document instead.
