Where the Velar fits
Land Rover positioned the Velar to fill the gap between the Evoque and the Range Rover Sport. At launch it offered 34.4 cu ft of luggage space behind the second row, an aluminum-intensive body and double-wishbone front suspension.
The name comes from the original 1969 Range Rover prototypes, which were registered as Velar.[7]
