Is the Mazda CX-70 discontinued?
Effectively, yes, for the U.S. Mazda's 2027 CX-90 release says a new two-row CX-90 configuration, available on the 3.3 Turbo Premium Sport and Turbo S Premium Sport, will replace the CX-70 in the U.S. market. The 2026 CX-70 remains the last model year sold here.[3]

The e-Skyactiv PHEV pairs a 2.5L four-cylinder with an electric motor for 323 hp and 369 lb-ft on premium fuel. For 2026 Mazda increased the EV range and revamped the PHEV trims as SC and SC Plus, which start at $44,450, below the inline-six Turbo Premium. The EPA rates 61 MPGe combined and 32 miles of electric range.
Charge Mode and an EV mode in Mi-Drive let the driver hold or use battery charge.[1][4]
Inline-six, rear-biased AWD and Kinematic Posture Control
The CX-70 shares Mazda's large platform with the CX-90: a longitudinal, rear-wheel-biased layout with i-Activ AWD, an eight-speed automatic and Kinematic Posture Control, a software function that brakes the inner rear wheel slightly in hard corners to limit body lift.
The e-Skyactiv G 3.3L inline-six turbo uses M Hybrid Boost, a 48-volt mild-hybrid system.[1][7][8]
