Mazda trim levels explained
By CarWhere Research · Updated
Mazda names most trims after the engine: 2.5 S trims (S, Select, Preferred, Premium, Premium Plus and special editions) use the non-turbo 2.5-liter, while 2.5 Turbo and Hybrid trims add other powertrains. The CX-70 and CX-90 use 3.3 Turbo, 3.3 Turbo S and PHEV grades, and the MX-5 Miata is sold as Sport, Club and Grand Touring. CarWhere lays out 67 trims across 7 Mazda models — CX-5, CX-50, CX-30, CX-70, CX-90, Mazda3 and MX-5 Miata — with dated base MSRPs, engines and key equipment.

How can I tell what trim my Mazda is?
Badges can be swapped or deleted, so the reliable record is the original paperwork or the build record tied to the VIN, which shows the trim, engine and packages the car was built with. Trim names also change between generations, so the trim and packages are only confirmed by the build record.
