Mazda CX-90 PHEV
The CX-90 PHEV combines a 2.5L four-cylinder with an electric motor and a 17.8-kWh battery for 323 hp and 369 lb-ft on 91-octane premium fuel. Mazda says it can drive on electricity alone in many situations, including freeway cruising, for up to 27 miles, and the EPA agrees on 27 miles and rates it 56 MPGe combined.
For 2027 it comes as Preferred ($50,695), Premium Sport ($55,500) and Premium Plus ($58,700), all seven-seaters with 21-inch wheels and a 1,500-watt cargo outlet on Premium Sport.[1][3]
The 3.3L inline-six turbo
The e-Skyactiv G 3.3L inline-six turbo is the most powerful mass-production gasoline engine Mazda has developed. Turbo trims make 280 hp and 332 lb-ft on regular fuel; Turbo S trims make 340 hp and 369 lb-ft on 91-octane premium, or 319 hp on regular. Both use M Hybrid Boost, a 48-volt mild-hybrid assist.[1][4]
New for 2027: a two-row CX-90
The 3.3 Turbo Premium Sport and 3.3 Turbo S Premium Sport now offer a two-row layout with one-touch auto-down second-row seats, priced $1,200 below their three-row versions ($46,880 and $53,540). Mazda says this configuration replaces the CX-70 in the U.S.[1]
