JCW vs Cooper S: what the extra money buys

On the 2027 2 Door, the JCW costs $6,100 more than a Cooper S and adds 27 hp and 59 lb-ft. MINI quotes 0–60 mph in 5.9 seconds against 6.3. JCW models also get JCW Sport Brakes, a JCW-specific suspension with Dynamic Damper Control, paddle shifters and Chili Red accents.

If you only want the look, the JCW Style package for Cooper S models ($1,200 on the Cooper, $1,400 on the Countryman for 2026) adds the JCW aero kit, exclusive wheels and Dynamic Damper Control, without the JCW engine.[1][4][23][22]

JCW Countryman ALL4

The JCW Countryman is the most powerful MINI sold in the US: its 2.0L turbo makes 312 hp and 295 lb-ft, and MINI quotes 0–60 mph in 5.2 seconds. It has a 0.26 drag coefficient and a 155-mph top speed. It costs $46,900 with Signature Plus and $49,400 with Iconic Trim, before destination.[3][2][8]

Buying a used JCW

JCW-specific recalls include 08V-507 (2009 JCW and JCW Clubman fitted with 16-inch instead of 17-inch front brake discs) and 17V-222 (2016–2017 Clubman inner brake lights, including the JCW Clubman). The 2009–2012 JCW models are also part of the auxiliary coolant pump recalls 12V-008 and 18V-248.[29][30][31][32]
