What is a BMW Option Code?
BMW option codes are three-digit factory codes (historically called SA codes, from the German Sonderausstattung, "special equipment") that document every package and standalone option a car was built with — M Sport, Premium and Executive packages, Individual paint and leather, and driver-assistance bundles. BMW's own Owner site requires the VIN to be registered to an account before it shows original build data, so there's no public per-VIN lookup for shoppers.
