Volvo XC40 trim levels explained

The Volvo XC40 comes in Core, Plus and Ultra. Volvo's 2025 prices for the B5 AWD mild hybrid were $40,650 for Core, $45,500 for Plus and $49,300 for Ultra, excluding destination, with Bright or Dark themes on Plus and Ultra. The 2019 launch trims were Momentum, R-Design and Inscription.

Current XC40 trim levels: XC40 (2025 model year)

Volvo's most recent XC40 price list; Core comes in the Bright theme, Plus and Ultra in Bright or Dark at the same price. Black Edition styling became available for 2026.[1][2]

Previous XC40 trim levels: XC40 (2019 launch)

The XC40 launched as a T5 AWD Momentum, with a front-drive T4 added in summer 2018 and R-Design and Inscription trims. Volvo did not publish Inscription pricing in its debut release.[4][5]
