The Sport and hybrid trims come in both sedan and hatchback; the Si is sedan-only and the Type R is hatchback-only.

What buyers actually pay

Standard gas and hybrid Civics (LX, Sport, Sport Touring Hybrid) sell at modest discounts — verified buyers average roughly 3–4% off MSRP with the occasional small incentive. The Si holds firm and typically transacts right at MSRP given its enthusiast demand and manual-only configuration. The Type R is the outlier: short supply, excluded from financing/lease deals, and commonly sold at or above MSRP with dealer markups still common.

Smart-buy tip

For most buyers the Sport Hybrid is the value sweet spot — the 200-hp hybrid powertrain and a better-equipped feel without the Touring premium. On standard trims, negotiate up from invoice (roughly $700–$1,500 under MSRP) rather than down from the sticker; on the Si and especially the Type R, expect little-to-no room and walk from any dealer adding markup over MSRP.
