Voyager vs Pacifica: the short version
The Voyager and Pacifica are built on the same minivan body in Windsor, Ontario, and use the same 287-hp 3.6L Pentastar V6 and 9-speed automatic. The Voyager is one well-equipped LX trim with seven seats and FWD; the Pacifica adds higher trims, AWD and an eight-seat option.
Inside and out, Chrysler gives the Voyager its own "classic" front and rear styling, Caprice leatherette seats and 17-inch aluminum wheels. On the Pacifica, Limited and Pinnacle add Nappa leather and ventilated front seats, Pinnacle adds hands-free sliding doors, and the Safety Sphere 360-degree camera package is available.[3][10][2][11][4][12]
What happened to the Voyager for 2027
Chrysler's 2027 lineup has no Voyager. The base model is now the Pacifica LX, which Chrysler describes as "formerly the Voyager." It keeps the Voyager's exterior design, is FWD only and starts at $41,495 before destination.
So a "2027 Voyager" shopper is really looking at a Pacifica LX. Its next step up, the 2027 Pacifica Select, starts at $43,545 FWD and is the lowest trim with AWD ($46,540).[13][14][12]
Buying a used Voyager
Used Voyagers run from 2020 to 2026. The 2020–2021 L and LX were the cheapest Chrysler minivans. Chrysler described the 2022 Voyager as a fleet-only model, so many used Voyagers from those years started out in rental or commercial fleets. The 2025–2026 LX has more standard equipment, including the 10.1-inch screen and adaptive cruise control.
Check the VIN for open recalls. The side curtain air bag campaigns 25V-302 and 26V-189 cover 2022–2026 Voyagers along with the Pacifica.[7][6][2][15]
Chrysler Voyager generations by year
| Generation | US model years | Engines | Notes |
|---|---|---|---|
| Voyager (retail return) | 2025–2026 | 3.6L Pentastar V6 (287 hp, 262 lb-ft), 9-speed automatic, FWD | Chrysler put the Voyager back in its retail lineup for 2025 as a single LX trim at $39,995 with a 10.1-inch Uconnect 5 screen, second- and third-row Stow 'n Go, power sliding doors and liftgate, and heated front seats and steering wheel.[2][4] |
| Voyager (fleet-focused years) | 2022–2024 | 3.6L Pentastar V6 (287 hp), 9-speed automatic, FWD | Chrysler's 2022 fact sheet describes the Voyager as a fleet-only LX with newly standard Uconnect 5, second-row Stow 'n Go and power sliding doors and liftgate. In September 2024 Chrysler announced the Voyager's return to the retail lineup for 2025.[6][2] |
| Voyager (launch) | 2020–2021 | 3.6L Pentastar V6 (287 hp, 262 lb-ft), 9-speed automatic, FWD | The Voyager replaced the Pacifica L and LX for 2020, with L, LX and fleet-only LXi models. The 2020 lineup started at $26,985 and the 2021 Voyager L at $27,235, before destination.[7][8][9] |
Chrysler Voyager problems and recalls
The largest Chrysler Voyager recalls are shared with the Pacifica: side curtain air bags that may not hold pressure on 2022–2026 vans (25V-302, 25V-573 and 26V-189) and backup camera software (24V-436 and 26V-531). Smaller campaigns cover 2024 traction control and a 2025–2026 brake pedal sensor.
