Honda Fit trim levels explained
By CarWhere Research · Updated
Honda sold the Fit in the U.S. for 2007–2013 and 2015–2020. First- and second-generation cars (2007–2013) came as Fit or Fit Sport. The third generation (2015–2020) added LX, EX and EX-L trims, a 130-hp direct-injected engine and a CVT. Used buyers wanting driver-assist tech should look for a 2018–2020 car with Honda Sensing.
Previous Fit trim levels: Fit, third generation (final 2020 model year)
The last U.S. Fit lineup was LX, Sport, EX and EX-L, with a 6-speed manual on LX and Sport only. Honda added the Sport trim and offered Honda Sensing for 2018. For a used buyer, 2018–2020 cars are the ones Honda offered with Honda Sensing, listed in its 2018 pricing as LX and Sport “with Honda Sensing” versions.[1][2][3]

Previous Fit trim levels: Fit, third generation at launch (2015 model year)
The 2015 redesign brought a new direct-injected 1.5L engine, a 6-speed manual or CVT, and three trims: LX, EX and EX-L (with optional navigation). A rearview camera and Bluetooth were standard; smart entry, a moonroof, heated front seats, LaneWatch and a 7-inch Display Audio screen were available. There was no 2014 Fit, so 2013 and 2015 cars are a generation apart.[5][4][3]

Previous Fit trim levels: Fit, second generation (2009 model year)
The second-generation Fit kept the simple two-trim lineup, Fit and Fit Sport, with a 117-hp 1.5L and a 5-speed manual or 5-speed automatic. Fit Sport adds alloys, an aero kit, fog lights and cruise control; navigation was a Fit Sport option and, per Honda’s 2010 release, brought Vehicle Stability Assist with it.[6][7][3]

Previous Fit trim levels: Fit, first generation (2007 model year)
The first U.S. Fit arrived for 2007 with a 109-hp 1.5L and two trims, Fit and Fit Sport, each with a 5-speed manual or 5-speed automatic. Fit Sport automatics have steering-wheel paddle shifters. These are the oldest and cheapest Fits, so condition and recall completion matter most.[8][9][3]

Frequently asked questions
Which Honda Fit trim should I look for used?
For modern tech, a 2018–2020 Fit: Honda’s 2018 pricing lists LX and Sport versions “with Honda Sensing,” and EX and EX-L for more equipment. For the lowest price, a 2009–2013 Fit or Fit Sport keeps the simple 117-hp powertrain and a conventional 5-speed automatic.
What years was the Honda Fit sold in the U.S.?
Model years 2007–2013 and 2015–2020. The EPA record has no 2014 Fit, and 2020 was the final U.S. model year.
