Why the RC ended after 2025
In January 2025 Lexus announced that the RC and RC F would be officially discontinued at the end of the 2025 model year, after a decade on the market. Lexus did not give a reason beyond marking the end of the run. For the final year, the RC got minor changes (F SPORT RWD brake calipers switched from orange to red) and the RC F was offered only as a mono-spec Final Edition.[1]
Lexus RC F (2015–2025)
The RC F used the 2UR-GSE 5.0L naturally aspirated V8, rated at 467 hp and 389 lb-ft through the 2019 model year. For 2020 Lexus raised that to 472 hp at 7,100 rpm and 395 lb-ft at 4,800 rpm, cut weight and added launch control.
The RC F Track Edition (2020–2024) added a carbon-fiber hood, roof and fixed rear wing, plus Brembo carbon-ceramic brakes, and Lexus quoted 0–60 mph in 3.96 seconds. Its curb weight was 3,781 lb. The 2025 Final Edition built on the Carbon Package with 19-inch BBS forged wheels, Brembo brakes (six-piston front, four-piston rear), an active rear wing and a black and red interior with a numbered carbon-fiber Final Edition emblem.

Lexus RC problems and recalls
The Lexus RC’s main documented problem is fuel pumps. The RC F V8 had a high-pressure pump recall (18V107, 2015–2018), several RC 200t/300/350 years were covered by low-pressure pump recalls 20V012 and 20V682, and an April 2026 recall (26V222) covers certain 2015–2022 RC coupes.
