Lexus models, prices and problems
By CarWhere Research · Updated
CarWhere’s Lexus hub collects free research for Lexus shoppers and owners: 13 model guides from the GX 550 and IS 350 to the TX and LC 500, 174 trim levels with dated Lexus MSRPs, 128 known issues and NHTSA recalls, the F SPORT vs F badge guide, Lexus history and VIN tools. Every page lists its sources.

Frequently asked questions
What SUV models does Lexus sell?
CarWhere covers 7 current Lexus SUVs: GX, TX, RX, NX, LX, UX, RZ. Each model guide lists the current price range, powertrains and generations with Lexus and EPA sources.
How much is the Lexus GX 550?
For the 2027 model year the GX 550 is priced from $67,535 to $84,050 MSRP (MSRP excl. $1,550 delivery, processing and handling (DPH); $69,085–$85,600 including DPH. Lowest = Premium, highest = Luxury+.). The GX guide lists every trim with its dated Lexus MSRP.
What do the letters and numbers in Lexus model names mean?
The letters are the model line (IS, ES, LS, NX, RX, GX, TX, LX and so on) and the number marks the powertrain. A trailing h means hybrid, h+ means plug-in hybrid and e means battery-electric, so a TX 500h is a hybrid TX and an RZ 450e is an EV.
What is the difference between F SPORT and F?
F SPORT is a trim or package with sportier styling and, on some versions, suspension or handling upgrades. A full F model, such as the RC F or the earlier IS F and GS F, is a dedicated high-performance car with its own engine tuning and chassis. The F SPORT vs F guide explains each badge.
How do I check a Lexus for recalls?
Enter the 17-character VIN on NHTSA’s recall lookup or ask a Lexus dealer to run it. Recall repairs are free. CarWhere’s known-issues pages list recall campaign numbers by model and generation.
How do I find out what options my Lexus has?
Start with the paperwork that came with the car. If it is lost, a build sheet reconstructed from the VIN shows factory colors, options and packages where detailed build data exists, and the free VIN decoder shows basics such as engine, body and plant.
