McLaren 570S generations and years
The Sports Series family
The 570S Coupe opened the Sports Series in 2015. Six further core models followed — the 540C, 570GT, 570S Spider, 600LT Coupe, 600LT Spider and 620R — and McLaren says more than 8,500 Sports Series cars were sold before the range ended in December 2020.[5]
Chassis and running gear
As launched, the 570S had 42/58 front/rear weight distribution, P Zero Corsa tyres (225/35 R19 front, 285/35 R20 rear) and a power-to-weight ratio of 434PS per tonne.[1]
What to check before buying a used 570S
On a used 570S, confirm completion of the NHTSA campaigns that name it: the passenger air bag inflator replacement for 2015–2017 570 models and the brake banjo bolt inspection for some 2020 570S cars. Then check that service history is annual and whether extended warranty eligibility remains.
Air bag inflator recall 19V141
Covers 2015–2017 570 vehicles; confirm the passenger frontal air bag was replaced.[6]
Brake banjo bolt recall 21V561
Covers certain 2020 570S cars; the bolt may lack the fluid holes that feed the caliper.[6]
Annual service history
McLaren’s scheduled service interval is one year or 10,000 miles (15,000 km), whichever comes first; a stamped retailer history should show a visit at least once a year.[7]
Warranty and extended cover
McLaren’s published terms (as stated for the 750S in 2023) give a three-year, unlimited-mileage new-car warranty, and the optional McLaren Extended Warranty is sold in 12- or 24-month periods until a car is 15 years old — so check whether the car is still eligible.[7]
