How Polestar sells in the US: through dealers

Polestar began with an online, direct-to-customer model, but its fiscal 2025 annual report says that "in the U.S., we are operating a dealer-focused wholesale model" and that all North American sales are made through dealerships. Its representatives are linked to Volvo Cars or the Volvo Cars dealer network, and service runs through that network.

On polestar.com/us, customers can browse, configure and check inventory. The site invites shoppers to "visit our spaces" at any Polestar dealership nationwide for a test drive. Because a dealer completes the sale, the final transaction price on a new Polestar can differ from the MSRP Polestar publishes.[1][2]
