Rivian is an American EV maker that sells the R1T pickup (from $79,990), the seven-seat R1S SUV (from $83,990) and the midsize R2 SUV (from $44,990), with the smaller R3 coming later. Rivian sells directly, not through dealers. Every 2026 and later Rivian has a NACS port for Tesla Superchargers.

How Rivian sells

Rivian builds its vehicles in the United States and sells them directly to consumer and commercial customers; there are no franchised Rivian dealers. You configure and order on rivian.com at the listed price; a reservation is not required to order an R1, and Rivian says an order is fully refundable until you take delivery.

Because Rivian sells direct, state franchise laws decide where it can hold a dealer license and run its own sales locations, so delivery and showroom options vary by state.[1][2][3]

The Rivian lineup

R1T is a five-seat electric pickup and R1S a three-row, seven-seat SUV; both are in their second generation (2025 on) and for 2027 come as Premium (dual-motor), Performance (tri-motor) or Quad (four motors). EPA range reaches 420 miles on the R1T and 410 miles on the R1S.

R2 is a five-seat midsize SUV that began deliveries in June 2026, starting with the 656-hp Performance at $57,990. R3, a smaller crossover with an R3X performance variant, is planned to follow R2.[16][17][18][1][7]

Charging and NACS

2022–2025 Rivians have a CCS1 port and use Rivian's NACS DC adapter at Tesla Superchargers; model year 2026 and later Rivians, including every R2, have a native NACS port. Rivians can use over 21,500 Superchargers and over 50,000 compatible DC fast chargers in North America.[15][19]

Rivian Adventure Network

Rivian's own fast-charging network has grown to over 150 sites and 1,100 chargers, rated up to 300 kW, and is open to all EVs. Rivian also operates Level 2 Waypoints chargers at everyday destinations.[20][21][19]

Warranty

New Rivians carry a 4-year/50,000-mile comprehensive warranty. Battery and drive-system coverage is 8 years with 120,000 miles (R2 and Standard-pack R1) or 150,000 miles (other 2025+ R1 configurations); 2022–2024 Quad Large models get 175,000 miles.[22]

Commercial vans

Rivian also builds the Electric Delivery Van, designed with Amazon. Amazon had over 40,000 Rivian vans in its North American fleet as of mid-2026.[2][23]
