Chrysler Pacifica engines, horsepower and mpg
Plug-in Hybrid figures are EPA's gas-only rating plus its 32-mile electric range; EPA rates the 2019–2026 Plug-in Hybrid at 82 MPGe combined on electricity (2017–2018 models: 84 MPGe and 33 miles). 2017 V6 models were rated 18/28/22 mpg without stop-start. We did not find a Chrysler-published combined horsepower figure for the hybrid system. Every 2027 Pacifica tows up to 3,600 lbs. when properly equipped.

2027 Pacifica: four trims, one V6
For 2027, the Pacifica lineup is LX, Select, Limited and Pinnacle. Every trim uses the 3.6L Pentastar V6 with stop-start, rated at 287 hp and 262 lb-ft, and a 9-speed automatic. After Chrysler's May 2026 price cut, MSRPs run from $41,495 (LX FWD) to $57,905 (Pinnacle AWD) before the $1,995 destination charge.
The LX is the former Voyager under a new name: it keeps the Voyager's exterior design and comes with power sliding doors and heated front seats and steering wheel. Select and above get the refreshed front end. The Safety Sphere package (360-degree camera and front/rear park assist with stop) is standard on Pinnacle and a $395 option on Limited.
Pacifica Plug-in Hybrid: range, MPGe and status
The Pacifica Plug-in Hybrid launched for 2017 as the first hybrid minivan. It pairs an Atkinson-cycle version of the 3.6L Pentastar V6 with a two-motor electrically variable transmission and a 16-kWh lithium-ion battery under the second-row floor. EPA rated the 2017 and 2018 models at 84 MPGe and 33 miles of electric range.
From 2019 on, EPA rates it at 82 MPGe combined, 32 miles of electric range and 30 mpg combined on gas alone. Chrysler quotes a total range of 520 miles. Charging takes about 14 hours on the standard Level 1 cord or about 2 hours on a Level 2 home charger, per chrysler.com.
Because the battery sits under the second row, the hybrid has no second-row Stow 'n Go seats; the third row still folds into the floor. It was FWD only. The last trims were the Plug-in Hybrid Select and Pinnacle, and chrysler.com now says the Plug-in Hybrid is no longer in production.
Stow 'n Go seating and AWD
Stow 'n Go lets the second- and third-row seats fold into the floor for a flat load space; Chrysler calls it exclusive to the segment. With all seats folded, the Pacifica has 140.5 cu ft behind the first row, 87.5 cu ft behind the second and 32.3 cu ft behind the third.
AWD has been available on gas models since 2021. Chrysler says the system disconnects the rear drive when it is not needed to cut driveline drag. Eight-passenger seating is offered only on the Select with FWD.[2][3][4][22][6]
Buying a used Pacifica
A 2017–2020 Pacifica has the same 287-hp V6 and 9-speed as today's model but FWD only. AWD and the 10.1-inch Uconnect 5 screen arrived for 2021. Launch prices for 2017 ran from $28,995 (LX) to $42,895 (Limited) before destination.
For a used Plug-in Hybrid, confirm that the battery recalls are complete. The 2017–2022 hybrids are covered by park-outside fire recalls (22V-077, 24V-536, 24V-538 and 26V-362), and the 2017–2023 hybrids by an engine-shutdown recall (23V-010). See the Pacifica problems and recalls page for details.[13][6][23]
