Corvette E-Ray (2024–2026): Price, Specs, MPG, Recalls and What Replaced It

By CarWhere Research · Updated

The Corvette E-Ray, sold for 2024–2026, was the first all-wheel-drive Corvette: a 495-hp LT2 V8 drives the rear wheels and a 160-hp front motor the fronts, for 655 hp. Chevrolet announced the 2024 coupe at $104,295 and quoted the 2026 E-Ray at $111,095 with destination. It is gone from the 2027 lineup.[1][3][8]

How the eAWD and Stealth mode work

There is no mechanical link between the front motor and the V8. The eAWD system sends extra power to the front wheels in spirited driving and on low-grip surfaces, and the front motor also extends four-cylinder Active Fuel Management operation.

Stealth mode, selected at start-up, drives the car on electric power alone up to 45 mph before the V8 starts. The engine fires if speed exceeds the limit, the driver asks for more torque, or the battery runs low. Charge+ tops up the battery for extended track laps.

  • Standard Brembo carbon-ceramic brakes and Magnetic Ride Control 4.0.
  • Staggered 20- and 21-inch wheels on Michelin Pilot Sport all-season tires; summer tires optional.
  • Body 3.6 inches wider than the Stingray, sharing the Z06's wide-body proportions.
  • Quarter mile in 10.5 s at 130 mph and 1.1 g on the skidpad (summer tires), per Chevrolet.[1]

Fuel economy (EPA)

The EPA rated the E-Ray at the same figures for all three model years, on premium fuel. That is the same combined figure as the 2024–2026 Stingray (16/25/19).

E-Ray vs the 2027 Grand Sport X

For 2027 the E-Ray no longer appears in Chevrolet's six-model Corvette lineup or in the EPA's 2027 Corvette listings, and its chevrolet.com page redirects to the lineup page. The hybrid all-wheel-drive slot is now the Grand Sport X, which pairs the new 6.7L LS6 V8 with the front motor and battery from the ZR1X. GM says the X suffix now marks eAWD models.

Corvette E-Ray problems & recalls

Seat belt retractors (2024–2025)

Recall 24V418000 covers 2024–2025 Corvettes whose driver or passenger belt retractor can lock in the stowed position. The defect summary names the Corvette without listing sub-models, so check any E-Ray VIN.[12]

Rear turn-signal failure warning (2025–2026)

Recall 26V213000 names 2025 and 2026 E-Ray coupes and convertibles: a software error may fail to detect a failed rear turn signal.[12]

Listed campaigns name the E-Ray in the NHTSA defect summary. Two Corvette-wide campaigns also cover E-Ray model years without naming sub-models: 24V418000 (2024–2025 seat belt retractors) and 25V536000 (2023–2026 fuel spill while refueling on cars with a left-side radiator/fan). Check the VIN against both.

What to check before buying a used Corvette E-Ray

  1. Run the VIN for open recalls: 26V213000 (2025–2026), 26V114000 (2026 convertible), plus Corvette-wide 24V418000 and 25V536000.
  2. Pull both seat belts out fully on a 2024–2025 car; retractors locked in the stowed position are the 24V418000 defect.
  3. Start the car in Stealth mode and confirm it moves on electric power to near 45 mph before the V8 starts.
  4. Check that the Charge+ button works and the E-Ray Performance App shows the battery and front-motor output.
  5. Inspect the standard carbon-ceramic brakes for track wear.
  6. Confirm whether the car has the ZER Performance Package; GM quotes the 2.5-second 0–60 time with it.
  7. For the newer interior, a 2026 E-Ray has the 12.7-inch center display, 14-inch driver display and 6.6-inch side touchscreen.
