What Rivian has said about R3

Rivian revealed R3 on March 7, 2024, as a midsize crossover that is 'tidy on dimensions' with a hatch-style design, built on the same midsize platform as R2. Rivian said R3 would be priced below R2 and that R3 and R3X deliveries would start after R2 citing lessons from launching R1T, R1S and the delivery van at the same time.

Platform-level targets Rivian gave for R2 and R3: single-, dual- and tri-motor configurations, two battery sizes, over 300 miles of range for the larger pack, 0–60 in under 3 seconds for the quickest version, and NACS charging with 10–80% in under 30 minutes.[1][2]

Rivian R3X

R3X is the performance variant of R3, which Rivian describes as having even more dynamic abilities on and off road. Rivian has not published R3X power, range or price.[1]

When R3 could arrive

Rivian has not given an R3 delivery date. R2 public deliveries started on June 9, 2026. Rivian is building a plant in Stanton Springs, Georgia, expected to begin assembling vehicles in late 2028, with up to 300,000 units of annual capacity for R2, a robotaxi variant and upcoming models including R3.

In 2024 Rivian said R3 reservations would open at a later date. As of November 2026, Rivian's R3 page shows a video and photo gallery but no price, specifications or order option.[3][4][2][5]
