What makes it a Raptor

Compared with a Bronco Badlands, the Raptor uses a different engine (the 3.0L V6 instead of the 2.3L or 2.7L), heavier axles, larger brakes, a wider track and longer-travel suspension. Ford's 2025 specification sheet lists the Raptor's track at 73.2 inches front and 73.6 inches rear, against 65.0 inches for the Badlands.

Standard 37-inch BFGoodrich KO2 tires and FOX Live Valve 3.1 semi-active dampers raise ground clearance to 13.1 inches and approach angle to 47.2 degrees. Ford Performance also sold an $825 software calibration for 2022–2024 Bronco Raptors that it rated at 455 hp and 536 lb-ft.

Towing

Ford rates the 2026 Bronco Raptor for up to 4,500 pounds of towing when properly equipped. The ford.com listing notes that reaching that figure requires additional equipment such as the trailer tow prep package, and that actual capacity varies with cargo, passengers and configuration.

A payload figure for the Bronco Raptor was not listed on the Ford pages checked; the door-jamb label on a specific vehicle gives its carrying capacity.[1]

Bronco Raptor generations & model years

GenerationModel yearsWhat changed
Bronco Raptor (sixth-gen Bronco, four-door)2022–2026The Bronco Raptor first appears as a 2022 model and is offered as a four-door with the 3.0L EcoBoost V6 and 10-speed automatic. EPA listings show the same 15/16/15 mpg rating for every model year from 2022 through 2026.[2][4][5]
Sixth-generation Bronco (broader lineup)2021–presentThe current Bronco lineup begins with the 2021 model year in EPA listings, a year before the Raptor joined it. The Raptor shares the Bronco's body-on-frame layout but gets its own engine, axles, suspension and wider bodywork.[2][6]

Bronco Raptor known issues & recalls

NHTSA records two recalls that name the Bronco Raptor directly: a 2023 steering-gear campaign for some 2022 Raptors and a 2026 engine-compartment wiring campaign covering 2021–2026 Bronco and Bronco Raptor models. Other campaigns cover the 2021+ Bronco broadly, including rear shock reservoirs, rearview camera software, fender flares and a 2.7L/3.0L intake-valve campaign for 2021–2022 models. Recall summaries usually do not list trims, so a VIN check on NHTSA.gov confirms whether a given vehicle is included.
