What makes it a Raptor

The Ranger Raptor is the only Ranger with the 3.0L EcoBoost V6; Ford lists the 2024 Ranger's other engines as a 2.3L four-cylinder and an available 2.7L V6. The Raptor adds FOX 2.5-inch Live Valve internal-bypass shocks, a forged aluminum double A-arm front suspension, a Watts-link rear, 33-inch all-terrain tires and front and rear locking differentials.

Ford's spec sheet lists a 67.88:1 crawl ratio, 10.7 inches of minimum running ground clearance and a 33-degree approach angle. In August 2024 Ford Performance Parts released an $825 calibration for the 2024 Ranger Raptor rated at 455 hp and 536 lb-ft.[3][4][5][10]

Towing and payload

Ford rates the Ranger Raptor at 5,510 pounds of maximum towing with the standard trailer tow package, with a 6,790-pound GVWR and 11,465-pound GCWR on the 2025 spec sheet.

Payload differs by source and year: the 2025 technical specifications list 1,411 pounds, while the 2026 ford.com page lists 1,373 pounds. The door-jamb label on a specific truck gives its carrying capacity.[1][3]

Ranger Raptor known issues & recalls

NHTSA campaigns for the 2024+ Ranger cover the lineup broadly rather than naming the Raptor trim. The largest involve sun-visor wiring, side-curtain air bags that can tear on deployment, front seat height-adjust bolts and trailer-module communication. Several smaller campaigns address front upper control-arm fasteners on 2024–2025 trucks. Recall summaries usually do not list trims, so a VIN check on NHTSA.gov confirms whether a given truck is included.
