Porsche 718 Cayman Trim Levels Explained

The 718 Cayman (982, 2017–2025) came as the Cayman, Cayman T, Cayman S, GTS (later GTS 4.0), GT4 and GT4 RS, from 300 hp to 493 hp. Launch MSRPs ran from $53,900 to $141,700. Gas 718 production ended in October 2025, so every 718 is now a used or remaining-stock car.

What each 718 Cayman trim adds

  1. 1. 718 Cayman275–300 hp

    2.0-liter turbo flat-four with 300 hp. The 981 Cayman before it used a 2.7-liter flat-six.

  2. 2. 718 Cayman T300 hp

    Base engine with PASM sport suspension 0.78 in lower, a mechanical limited-slip differential, Sport Chrono, 20-inch wheels, Sport Seats Plus, door-pull loops and a short-throw six-speed manual standard.[1]

  3. 3. 718 Cayman S325–350 hp

    2.5-liter turbo flat-four with variable turbine geometry, 350 hp.

  4. 4. 718 Cayman GTS / GTS 4.0340–394 hp

    2018–2019: 365 hp 2.5 turbo. From 2021, the GTS 4.0 uses a naturally aspirated 4.0-liter flat-six (394 hp) with PASM 20 mm lower, PTV with a limited-slip differential, Sport Chrono and the sport exhaust standard.[2]

  5. 5. 718 Cayman GT4 / GT4 RS385–493 hp

    Motorsport-developed: the GT4 has a 414 hp 4.0-liter flat-six; the GT4 RS uses a 911 GT3-derived engine with 493 hp and PDK only.

718 Cayman options that matter when you shop

Porsche sells most equipment as individual options, so the trim badge only tells you part of the story. These are the options worth confirming on any 718 Cayman you look at.

  • Sport Chrono Package: Standard on the T and GTS 4.0; optional on the Cayman and Cayman S.
  • PASM and PTV: Porsche Torque Vectoring was optional on the 718 and 718 S, per Porsche's T release.
  • Manual vs PDK: Varies by trim and year; the GTS 4.0 was manual-only at launch and PDK became optional from 2021.
  • Ceramic brakes (PCCB): Optional on the GTS 4.0; confirm by VIN.
