GM Supplier Discount: Eligibility, Pricing and the Rules
The GM Supplier Discount lets active employees of eligible GM suppliers and fleet customers buy or lease up to two new Chevrolet, Buick, GMC or Cadillac vehicles a year at GM's supplier price, which is below MSRP. You register with your company code, request a 90-day authorization number, and must keep the vehicle six months.

Who is eligible for GM supplier pricing
GM's rules limit the program to U.S. residents who are:
- Active employees of eligible GM supplier companies (hourly or salaried, full- or part-time).
- Active employees of eligible GM fleet and commercial customers.
- Not contract employees — GM’s FAQ excludes them.
You stay eligible only if you remain eligible from the day the deal starts through delivery. Family and friends cannot use the program on their own; they qualify only through the share option below. GM employees and retirees use a different program — see GM Family First employee pricing.

How GM supplier pricing is calculated
GM describes the Supplier Discount Price as a special discounted price below the manufacturer's suggested retail price. It is a fixed program price per vehicle, not a negotiated number: GM's FAQ says the price shows in the far right-hand column of the dealer invoice, labeled SUPPLR, and in the Build & Price tool on gmsupplierdiscount.com. The customer-dealer agreement you sign must show the program price taken from that invoice.
Because the price is tied to the invoice of the specific vehicle, two trucks with the same trim can land at different supplier prices if their option content differs. For context on how factory invoice works by brand, see Chevrolet Silverado 1500 dealer invoice price and dealer invoice price by model.
How to get a GM supplier discount authorization number
- Get your company code from your HR department (the company code is not the authorization number).
- Register at gmsupplierdiscount.com with the company code.
- Sign in, choose GM Supplier Discount, then Get Authorization Number.
- Contact a participating dealer, say up front that you are using the supplier discount, and give them the number before the deal is completed.
- Bring a company ID/badge or a pay stub dated within 30 days (redacted except date, your name and company) and your driver’s license with the number redacted.
An unused number can be voided while it is in “Requested” status. Leasing and financing can go through any lender.
Sharing your supplier discount
After you buy or lease under the program, GM lets you pass the discount to one friend or family member per purchase for up to a year. You request their number with their date of birth and ZIP code under “Share Your Discount”; they have 90 days to use it and you do not need to go to the dealer with them.
Before you sign
- Confirm the vehicle is eligible — GM restricts some new models during launch, and eligibility can change without notice.
- Ask which current GM offers stack with supplier pricing on that exact model.
- Compare the supplier price with the dealer's best public offer; on heavily incentivized models a public deal can come close. Our best discounts by model page shows where discounts are deepest.
- On a used GM vehicle (outside the program), check the factory build with the Chevrolet build sheet by VIN, GMC build sheet or Cadillac build sheet.
Buying with supplier pricing? Check the factory options first
Supplier pricing is set per vehicle, so the options on the truck or SUV you pick decide what you pay — and the same applies to any used GM vehicle you compare it with. Check the exact factory options of the vehicle before you buy: enter its VIN on the Chevrolet build sheet page. The availability check is free, and you pay $9.99 only if build data exists for that VIN.

FAQ
What is the GM Supplier Discount?
A General Motors purchase program that lets active employees of eligible GM supplier companies, and of eligible GM fleet and commercial customers, buy or lease new Chevrolet, Buick, GMC and Cadillac vehicles at the GM supplier price, which GM describes as a discounted price below MSRP. You need a company code from your employer to register at gmsupplierdiscount.com.
How much is GM supplier pricing?
GM does not publish a fixed percentage. The supplier price is set per vehicle; GM says you can see it in the Build & Price tool at gmsupplierdiscount.com and on the dealer invoice, where it appears in the column labeled SUPPLR. GM tells buyers not to sign the pricing sheet unless the program price from the invoice is shown.
How many vehicles can I buy with the GM Supplier Discount?
Up to two eligible new and unused vehicles per calendar year, according to GM’s Supplier Discount rules. Each authorization number is valid for 90 days, and only vehicles bought after you get the number qualify — previous purchases cannot be re-priced.
Can I share the GM Supplier Discount with friends or family?
Yes, but only after you buy or lease yourself. Each time you purchase a new GM vehicle under the program, you can share the supplier discount with one friend or family member for up to one year from your purchase date. They get their own authorization number, valid for 90 days.
Can I combine GM supplier pricing with rebates?
GM says the program is compatible with most current offers, and you can finance or lease through any lender rather than only GM Financial. Check the specific offer with the dealer, because eligibility varies by model and offer.
Do all GM dealers accept the supplier discount?
No. Dealer participation is voluntary and can vary model by model. GM advises stating that you are using the supplier discount on your first contact with the dealer, and visiting another GM dealer if one declines.
