What to check before buying a used Aventador SVJ
Before buying a used Aventador SVJ, run the VIN for its four NHTSA recall campaigns: interior door handles and front suspension arm bolts on 2020 cars, hood hinge screws on 2018–2021 coupes, and heat-exchanger oil lines on one 2021 roadster. All were free dealer repairs, so ask for completion records.
2018–2021 SVJ Coupe: hood hinge screws (21V107000)
Loose hood hinge screws could let the hood unlatch at high speed; dealers replaced the screws.[5]
2020 SVJ: interior door handle (20V151000)
The inside door handle mechanism could fail; dealers replaced the handle.[5]
2020 SVJ: front frame suspension arm bolt (20V618000)
Damaged aluminum frame threads could leave the front suspension arm anchor bolt under-tightened; affected cars had the front frame replaced while in dealer possession.[5]
Confirm limited-series identity
The coupe was capped at 900 units and the roadster at 800, with separate 63-unit SVJ 63 editions; documents should match the version claimed.[2][3]
