Race-car engineering
More than 75% of the STO’s body panels are carbon fiber, and the one-piece “cofango” combines the hood and front fenders. A 30% lighter windshield, magnesium wheels and reduced soundproofing help make it 43 kg lighter than the Huracán Performante.
The rear wing has three manually adjustable positions. Brembo CCM-R carbon-ceramic brakes are derived from Formula 1. Lamborghini Dynamic Steering is replaced by a fixed, more direct ratio, and the driving modes are STO, Trofeo and Pioggia.
Lamborghini quotes a 310 km/h top speed and 0–200 km/h in 9.0 seconds; it does not publish an mph top-speed figure in the launch release.[2][1]
What to check before buying a used Huracán STO
Before buying a used Huracán STO, confirm that both NHTSA recall campaigns naming the STO were completed on that VIN: a check of the gearbox transmission oil level on 2022 cars, and inspection of the exterior driver-side door handle on 2022 cars. Both were free dealer repairs with owner letters mailed in 2022.
2022 STO: transmission oil level (22V220000)
Insufficient gearbox oil could cause clutch slippage or an oil leak; dealers inspected and corrected the oil level.[3]
2022 STO: exterior driver door handle (22V422000)
The handle may not have been assembled properly, preventing the door from opening from outside; dealers inspected and repaired it.[3]
Confirm it is rear-wheel drive
The STO is rear-wheel drive with a mechanical limited-slip differential and a 7-speed dual-clutch gearbox.[1]
