G20/G21 3 Series (2019–present) specs
Chassis codes: G20 sedan · G21 sports wagon (touring) — not sold in the us · LCI (facelift) from the 2023 model year
What changed in the G20
US sales of the G20 sedan began for 2019 with the 330i. The six-cylinder M340i joined for 2020, and for 2021 a new 330e plug-in hybrid arrived with a bigger battery than the F30 version. BMW did not sell the G21 Touring wagon in the US, so the US G20 range is sedan-only. The 2023 LCI added a new front end and BMW's curved display, and US power ratings stayed the same. For 2025 both gasoline engines gained 48V mild-hybrid assistance and the M340i rose to 386 hp, while the US 330e ended after the 2024 model year.

0–60 mph figures are BMW-claimed unless marked † (instrumented magazine test). "—" means we could not confirm the figure from a primary source. MSRP is US base price at launch, excluding destination. Many BMWs are electronically limited to 130 or 155 mph; see trim notes.
See exactly how a specific 3 Series was optioned from the factory.
Trim specs are the starting point; a car's options, paint and upholstery are recorded against its VIN. The CarWhere build sheet decodes a BMW 3 Series VIN into its factory record. $9.99, instant.

Frequently asked questions
What are the BMW 3 Series generations and chassis codes?
The BMW 3 Series has been sold in the US in 5 generations, each known by its chassis code: E36 (1992–1999), E46 (1999–2006), E90/E91/E92/E93 (2006–2013), F30/F31/F34 (2012–2019), G20/G21 (2019–present).
How much horsepower does the G20 330i / 330i xDrive have?
The G20 330i / 330i xDrive (2019–2022) makes 255 hp and 295 lb-ft of torque from its 2.0L turbo inline-4 (B48).
How much horsepower does the F30 ActiveHybrid 3 have?
The F30 ActiveHybrid 3 (2013–2015) makes 335 hp and 330 lb-ft of torque from its 3.0L turbo inline-6 hybrid (N55).
What is the most powerful and quickest BMW 3 Series?
The most powerful 3 Series listed here is the G20 M340i / M340i xDrive at 386 hp. The quickest 0–60 mph figure is 5.6 seconds for the G20 330e / 330e xDrive (BMW-claimed, automatic).
What changed in the G20 BMW 3 Series?
How can I see how a specific BMW 3 Series was optioned from the factory?
Spec tables show what each trim offered; the options on an individual car are recorded against its VIN. A BMW build sheet decoded from the VIN lists the factory option codes, original paint and upholstery as the car was built.
