What changed in the I20
The iX launched in the US for 2022 as BMW's dedicated electric flagship SAV, with an aluminum-and-carbon body structure and two electric motors giving all-wheel drive. The US initially got only the xDrive50, with a battery of about 106 kWh usable; the BMW M-developed M60 followed for 2023. The smaller-battery xDrive40 sold in other markets was not offered in the US. For 2026 the refreshed iX gained revised styling, more power and range, and a new trim walk of xDrive45, xDrive60 and M70.
