Infiniti models, prices and problems

By CarWhere Research · Updated

CarWhere’s Infiniti hub collects free research for Infiniti shoppers and owners: 8 model guides (Q50, QX60, QX80, Q60, G37), 76 trim levels with dated Infiniti MSRPs, 66 known issues and NHTSA recalls, Infiniti history and VIN tools. Every page lists its sources.

INFINITI’s lineup is now mostly SUVs, while the Q50, Q60, G35 and G37 are bought used. These pages explain what each model, trim and generation offers, what has been recalled, what buyers actually paid, and what to check on a specific vehicle before you buy it.

Frequently asked questions

What SUV models does Infiniti sell?

CarWhere covers 4 current Infiniti SUVs: QX60, QX80, QX50, QX55. Each model guide lists the current price range, powertrains and generations with Infiniti and EPA sources.

How much is the Infiniti QX60?

For the 2027 model year the QX60 is priced from $51,890 to $66,890 MSRP (MSRP excl. $1,575 destination and handling. Lowest = PURE FWD, highest = AUTOGRAPH (AWD standard). The release headline says 'from $51,980' while its price list shows $51,890 for PURE; we use the price list.). The QX60 guide lists every trim with its dated Infiniti MSRP.

Who makes Infiniti cars?

Infiniti is Nissan’s luxury car brand. It grew out of Nissan’s secret Horizon Task Force, formed in 1985, and went on sale in the United States on November 8, 1989, when 51 dealers opened with the Q45 sedan and M30 coupe. Infiniti moved to Q names for cars and QX names for SUVs starting with the 2014 model year.

Why did Infiniti change its model names?

Starting with the 2014 model year INFINITI renamed its lineup: cars became Q plus a number (the G37 sedan’s successor is the Q50, the coupe became the Q60) and SUVs became QX (the JX became the QX60 and the QX56 the QX80). The history pages map every old name to its new one.

How do I check an Infiniti for recalls?

Enter the 17-character VIN on NHTSA’s recall lookup or ask an Infiniti dealer to run it. Recall repairs are free. CarWhere’s known-issues pages list recall campaign numbers by model and generation.

How do I find out what options my Infiniti has?

Start with the paperwork that came with the car. If it is lost, a build sheet reconstructed from the VIN shows factory colors, options and packages where detailed build data exists, and the free VIN decoder shows basics such as engine, body and plant.
